As you all probably aware I have spent the last 2 months making my west end
debut in the hit show "calender girls" working alongside June Brown, Jerry
Hall and Anita Dobson. This has been a dream come true for me, not only as
it is my first west end show, but I have also been able to learn something
new everyday due to working with such talented, experienced and well
All the ladies have been lovely to me and have made me feel extremely
welcome, and due to Anita and Jerry I got to meet Brian May, Joan Collins
I must say I am a huge "Queen" fan so after meeting Brian I ran
straight up to my dressing room to ring my mum and tell her the gossip. My
stage nerves are just about going too, but for the first few shows I was
shaking back stage, I was nervous and excited all at the same time,
especially on the nights when I had family and friends in to watch.
This show is also special to me, as it touches on the subject of leukaemia
and as you know I work closely with Teenage Cancer Trust and Breast Cancer
Awareness, so to be part of a production which highlights this terrible
disease but at the same time shows the strength and positive attitude people
show, whilst effected by it, made me want to be part of it even more.
I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has sent me letters
wishing me good luck for the show, and for those of you who came along to
see the show, I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I do!! Calendar Girls has
now been extended until the 31st October!
Thanks again and here's hoping maybe one day in the near future, my name
will be the head liner in a hit west end show!!
Lots of love, Gemma xxx
